SBOBET, Manchester United striker Chicharito set for Real Madrid loan

The Mexico international striker has failed to impress new manager Louis van Gaal and will look to prove himself at the Santiago Bernabeu, with only personal terms left to confirm

By Alberto Pinero

Real Madrid are on the verge of completing a season-long loan deal for Manchester United striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez, Goal understands.

Los Blancos had considered moving for both Radamel Falcao of Monaco and Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo but have decided that the Mexican – who has been told that he is free to leave Old Trafford – represents the best option.

Chicharito is seen as a player who can add an extra goal threat but one who will not compromise the standing of the club’s biggest stars, Sbobet, with Karim Benzema currently first-choice centre forward.

The 26-year-old has never been able to nail down a consistent starting role with the Red Devils since his move from Guadalajara in the summer of 2010 and was keen to seek first-team football elsewhere.

He sees Madrid as the ideal opportunity to prove himself, Sbobet, feeling that he was not given sufficient chances to impress at Old Trafford.

A season’s loan has been agreed between the two clubs, Sbobet, with only personal terms left to finalise before the move is officially announced.

GCLUB, Manchester United make late push for Nigel de Jong

The Red Devils are set to press ahead with a €10 million swoop for the Netherlands international midfielder, after Arturo Vidal committed his future to Juventus

Manchester United are making a late push to sign midfielder Nigel de Jong before the transfer window closes, Goal understands.

United are set to confirm the signing of Ajax’s Daley Blind on Monday after agreeing terms on a €17.5 million deal with the Dutch club.

But the Red Devils could still bring in the 29-year-old AC Milan man in a €10m deal, Gclub, in a bid to further bolster their midfield options.

Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman, first met with De Jong’s representatives in London earlier in August.

Talks between Woodward and De Jong’s camp are understood to have progressed over the following weeks, with the player keen to link up with Louis van Gaal, who coached the former Manchester City midfielder while in charge of Netherlands.

United had been hopeful of luring Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal away from Turin this summer after a series of strong displays with Chile at the World Cup.

But with Vidal now set to stay in Serie A, Gclub, the Red Devils have turned their attention back to De Jong ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday night.

United have been busy during the final days of the transfer window, wrapping up a €75m move for Angel Di Maria and completing a complicated deal to sign Marcos Rojo, though the defender is still awaiting a work permit.

Shinji Kagawa has now left the club and returned to Borussia Dortmund on a four-year deal, Gclub, with Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez also set to follow.

Goal understands that Welbeck is close to a season-long loan move to Tottenham, while Hernandez is on the verge of sealing a temporary switch to Real Madrid.
